There are so many ways we mother in this life, and each one is purposeful. How has your “mother’s heart” shown up in this season of your life?
1️⃣ Raising my children – I’m actively parenting and learning as I go.
2️⃣ Mentoring or pouring into others – I nurture through guidance, love, and wisdom.
3️⃣ Caring for kids I didn’t birth – I support, teach, or help raise children in my life.
4️⃣ Still discovering my role – I may not be a mother, but I know God has placed a nurturing spirit within me.

I have been blessed to have had a professional position in higher ed administration for over 30 years working with secondary school students, grades 5 through 12, and high school graduates, preparing them for high school and postsecondary success. One program was focused on preparing high school students for professional health careers through instruction, advising, career exposure activities, internships, and other activities year-round and a six-week summer residential component. Many of my former students maintain contact with me. I am very proud of their personal and professional successes and thankful for those staff who worked with me.
Today, at this stage in my life, retired, I serve as a Sunday School teacher for junior students, ages 9 through 12/13. I have served in this capacity for more than 15 years and am blessed with the opportunity to work with young people as they learn more about Jesus Christ, salvation, etc., as they grow in their faith and Christian walk. I believe God has given me the gift of working with young people of all backgrounds, gifts, and levels.
I also serve as an Usher in my church and have served for about 10 plus years.
Youth relate to me and I to them, accepting them all. They are talented in their own right and need the support, understanding, and to know they are loved and loved by God.
I pray God continues to bless each of you as He orders your steps.
