Just as the ribcage shields the heart and lungs, God has given women the role of protectors—guarding what He has entrusted to us. Proverbs 31:27 tells us that a noble woman “watches over the ways of her household.” This means being spiritually alert, covering our families in prayer, and using wisdom to protect our homes from harm. But protection goes beyond the physical. It’s also guarding hearts, minds, and spirits. The enemy seeks to disrupt our families, weaken our faith, and distract us from God’s purpose. As helpmates, we are called to stand firm, to be watchful, and to fight for what God has placed in our hands.
